500 patients examined at Max Hospital free medical camp

Ropar, August 25, 2013: As many as 500 people were examined during a free multi-specialty health camp organised by Max Super Speciality Hospital Mohali at Kheri Salabat Pur village in this district today.

The camp was organized by Max Hospital as a part of its Rural Outreach Programme, which offered free diagnostics like ECG, BP and Blood Sugar and eye check up. 

The camp was organised with the joint association of gram panchayat of Kheri Salabat Pur . During camp , Max Hospital provided free consultation to people for their health problems associated with general medicine, orthopedics, gynaecology, cardiology and eye.  The free medicines were also distributed to the underprivileged people.

A team of doctors, junior doctors and nurses comprising of. Dr Seema Wadhwa, Senior Consultant-Gynaecology, Dr Vivek Kochar, Attending Consultant-Orthopaedics, Dr VS Sehdev, Consultan-Internal medicine and Dr Harpreet Kaur, Consultant-Ophthalmology examined and interacted the people on various aspects of healthy heart, dietary care and integrated approach towards healthy body and mind.

Meanwhile Max Hospital has a very active Corporate Social Responsibility programme where outreach camps and various health awareness activities are conducted for the rural population and the underprivileged. The hospital has been conducting similar camps in different areas of Punjab like Kurali, Chamkour Sahib, Morinda and has further extended its services to the residents of Ropar and nearby areas. The camp addressed the health concerns of people and educated them about the common ailments of the specialties covered, their prevention and treatment. 

Commenting on the purpose behind conducting the camp, Dr Ashutosh Sood, General Manager Operation, Max Super Speciality Hospital Mohali said that Max Super Specialty Hospital, from time-to-time has been organising such camps, multispecialty OPDs and medical seminars to make health a reality at the very grassroots. The today camp was another such initiative to reach out to the masses. It was important for people to commit themselves to a healthier future comprising of a comprehensive health check-up on a regular basis. With this objective, our team of expert doctors has come together to counsel people for their cardiac, ortho, gynae and eye related problems, said Dr Sood adding through this health camp, we hoped to extend our free services to maximum number of residents of Ropar and its neighboring areas.
