500 knee replacements performed with TMT technique at Ivy

Chandigarh, August 25, 2021: Over 500 stitchless knee replacements surgeries have been performed with new ‘True Motion Technique’ (TMT) technique at Ivy Hospital since its launch in January this month.

Addressing a press conference at a hotel here on Wednesday, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh Saluja, Director and Head at Ivy Institute of Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement, said that TMT is a simple and elegant technique for knee replacement involving only 15-20 minutes. It gives a full range of motion within 48-hrs of surgery. After a knee replacement surgery, a patient can walk within six hours of surgery with stitch-less incision and no further follow-up is required, he asserted.

Since its launch, we have performed 500 patients with a 100% success rate. The technique is a blessing in disguise from the conventional knee replacement procedures.

The benefits of TMT includes; minimum incision, minimum blood loss, minimum hospital stay, no ICU stay, no drainage pipes (urinary/epidural), zero infection rate and minimum therapy required, informed Dr. Bhanu.

Meanwhile Dr Bhanu has over 15 years’ experience in the field and has performed more than 15000 joint replacement surgeries till now.
