50 percent concession on fare in HRTC buses to women started by CM in Dharamsala

Dharamsala, June 30, 2022: In Himachal Pradesh, women travellers will be charged half the fare in ordinary Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses from today to travel within the state boundaries. This scheme was launched by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in Dharamsala today. On this occasion, he was also brought in HRTC bus from the main bus stand Dharamsala to the venue of state level programme in Dharamsala. The driver of this bus was Seema Thakur who is the first woman bus driver of Himachal Pradesh.  CM issued the concessional tickets to women commuters at Dharamsala on the occasion of launching of 'Naari Ko Naman' scheme of the State Government to provide 50 percent concession on fare in HRTC buses to women commuters today.

The launch of this bus fare concession programme was called ‘Nari Ko Naman’. CM Jai Ram Thakur announced this 50 percent bus fare facility for the women on Himachal Day, 15 April this year and this decision has been implemented from today.
CM addressed the launching ceremony of 'Naari Ko Naman' scheme of the State Government and on this occasion CM said that from now onwards the minimum bus fare shall also be reduced from Rs.7 to Rs.5 in all buses running in the state. He said that the government will also sanction 25 new posts for female drivers in ‘Ride To Pride Government Taxi service’.  The service is for female passengers and senior citizens of HP.

CM also had the online feedback of the 50 per cent concession scheme from various bus stands in HP during the function organised in Government College Auditorium in Dharamsala on Thursday.
