Jalandhar, August 29, 2019: On the fourth day of Punjab Natya Mahotasava – a Theatre Festival organized in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (NZCC) at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar; the artists of Awaaz Rangmanch Toli , Amritsar enacted a play “Sat Begane” directed and written by Kanwal Randhey and Ajmer Aulakh respectively.
The play is all about the story of Bachna and Jai Kaur who make an inter caste marriage by going against the social norms. The play describes the attitude of Society towards the couple and their family emphasizing the life of woman who has entered into the institution of marriage against the set up norms. The play also throws light on economic and social problems in farmer's family and the importance of woman in man's life. In addition to this the play entertains the audience with some comic characters and live melodious music composed by Gagan Vadali. The characters in the play were Maljinder Valli, Dolly Sandal, Vishu Sharma, Gurkirat Sandhu, Bachhan Pal, Vikas Sonu, Amandeep, Sahil Sharma, Raman Sohi, Gurpreet Singh, Gavy Shergill, Mini Sharma, Japnoor, Sahilpreet, Karan and Karamjeet Sandhu entertain the audience with their powerful performance.
On the fourth day of this Mega Theatre Festival, Dr Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare, GNDU, Amritsar and Satnam Singh Manak, Executive Editor at Ajit Samachar presided over the event as chief guests.
Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma warmly welcomed them and congratulated the artists for enacting and representing such powerful message in the society through the medium of play in the most powerful manner.
