4th AICMA Awards Showcase Innovation, Sustainability and Legacy of India’s Cycle Sector

Ludhiana, August 30, 2025: The 4th AICMA Awards marked yet another milestone in celebrating the pioneers, achievers, and visionaries of the Indian bicycle industry. The event brought together eminent leaders, policymakers, and industry stalwarts, making it a momentous occasion for the cycling fraternity.
The awards ceremony was graced by Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh, who lauded the contribution of the cycle industry in providing large-scale employment, strengthening the economy, and promoting sustainable and healthy living. He further emphasized that Punjab, being the hub of the bicycle sector, has the potential to lead India towards a future of green mobility and international competitiveness.
Nasim Arshi, Customs Commissionerate Ludhiana, in his address, highlighted the growing importance of exports in the cycle sector and assured continued support in facilitating smoother international trade to enhance India’s global presence.
The occasion was also marked by the presence of leading industry figures. Padma Shri Onkar Pahwa and Rishi Pahwa, Vice Presidents of AICMA, added prestige with their participation, reflecting on the rich legacy and resilience of the industry. Aditya Munjal, President AICMA, spoke about a strong vision for innovation, sustainability, and global outreach.
Harsimran Jeet Singh Lucky, President UCPMA, emphasized industry collaboration and unity as the key to retaining Punjab’s leadership as the cycle capital of India.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of distinguished achievers whose contributions continue to inspire the growth and innovation of the Indian cycle industry. This year’s awards were conferred upon: Manjinder Singh, MD Citizen Group; U. Rajgopal, Sr. VP & Division Head; Murali HR, Founder, Namma Cycle Foundation; Dr. Bhairvi Kalpesh, CEO & Founder, BYSC India; Harmanjit Singh, MD, Navyug Namdhari Ecodrive; Atulya Mittal, Founder, Nexzu Mobility Ltd.; and Harshita Jakhar, Rajasthan.
