4816 People apply for availing benefits of pro-poor welfare scheme in Suwidha Camps on second day 

Ludhiana, October 29, 2021: The second and last day’s Suwidha camps organized by district administration in each sub-division has received massive response on Friday as a total of 4816 people applied for availing benefits under several pro-poor welfare schemes of Punjab Government. 


Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that these camps have been held to facilitate the people at their doorsteps with the benefit of more than 19 pro-people schemes and policies of the Punjab government. 


Revealing about number of applications in each sub-divisions, he said that as many as 1424 applications received in a camp held in Payal, 237 applications in Samrala, 1007 applications in Jagraon, 139 application in Ludhiana West, 959 applications in Raikot, 559 applications in Ludhiana East and 501 in Khanna sub-divisions.

He said that the process of the providing the benefit of the schemes to the applicants would be ensured in the coming days and exhorted the people to avail maximum benefit of these Suwidha Camps on Friday also. 

Sharma said that only people's active participation can make this initiative a mega success and termed the camps a game-changer. 

Deputy Commissioner added that the camps would ensure every single beneficiaries get the services of the schemes at the grassroots including five Marla plots for landless citizens, pension scheme (Old Age, Widow, Dependent etc.), loans from SC/BC Corporations / Bank Finco for repair of house, bus passes, pending mutation cases, MGNREGA job cards, waiver certificate of power arrears up to two kilowatt capacity, pending CLU cases / maps etc.
Sharma said that it is an opportunity for the people to get the benefit of several schemes under one roof without needing to visit different offices. 

He also added that these camps would prove to be a boon for the underprivileged sections by offering benefits of various schemes at their doorsteps.
