Players in action during the 46th Annual GNDU Inter-College Athletics at GNDU, Amritsar on Monday.
Amritsar, November 2, 2015: The 46th Annual GNDU Inter-College Athletics (M&W) Championship 2015-2016 was inaugurated here today in the Campus Athletics Track of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This championship would be concluded on 4th November, 2015. As many as 115 colleges comprising about 580 athletes from different colleges are participating.
Brig.(Retd.) Harcharan Singh, Hockey Olympian was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the championship. Dr. (Mrs) Sukhbir Kaur Mahal, President GNDU Sports Committee (Women) & Principal Khalsa College for Women welcomed the chief guest and others. Dr.H.S. Randhawa, Secretary GNDUSC (M&W) & Deputy Director Sports & Head gave the details about the championship.
Brig. (Retd.) Harcharan Singh said that fair judgment should be made by the judges with transparency to maintain true spirit of sports. He said that sports-person should also equally trust on their referees and judges. He said that students should play their game with spirit of true sportsmanship without bothering the results. He said that losers should work hard to excel next time. Dr. Mahal and Dr. Randhawa also presented their views on this occasion. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
