430 youngsters shortlisted at ‘Spark-2’ Job Fair held at CT Group of Institutions

Jalandhar, July 9, 2015: After the roaring success of Spark-1, District Administration organized its second Job Fair ‘Spark-2’ at CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus on Wednesday. More than 34 companies including HDFC bank, LIC, Pukhraj, HB Tools conducted their placement process to recruit young and qualified persons while more than 1,582 youngsters registered at the fair with skills in electrical, computing and others. 430 youngsters were shortlisted while the result of remaining three companies will be declared in coming two days.

Deputy Commissioner (IAS) Kamal Kishore Yadav marked his presence at the concluding ceremony while Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Kumar Amit inaugurated the event in the presence of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions), Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group of Institutions), Dr. Manoj Kumar (Group Director, CT Institutions) and other officials from Jalandhar Chamber of Industries and Commerce and District Bureau of Employment Generation and Training.

Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav informed that youngsters of age 18 to 25, 12th passed or graduates in any stream took part in this mela. They participated with their Bio-data accompanying original and Xerox of their certificates. He said, “Today’s youth is equipped with Skills, Degree, decent marks but the only thing which creates hindrance for them is Lack of Counseling. They need proper guidance and information about the career opportunities combining with their interest.”

S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) expressed his gratitude towards District Administration for organizing this Job Fair. He said, “We have always been organizing such placement drives across India including Himachal, Jammu, Srinagar, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Our basic motive is to make our students industry ready for that we make sure to provide industrial training, skills development workshops and other event for our students.

At the event, Mr. Amarjit (District Employment Centre), Smt.  Sanjeeda Beri  (Department of Employment Generation and Training), Sh. Surjeet Singh Dhuga (D.P.R.O, Jalandhar), Sh. Inderjeet Singh Dhami (Deputy Director, Services Department), Smt. Ramanpreet Kaur (Coordinator, Shamshir Communications, Jalandhar), Mr. Abhishek Soni (Centre for Career Planning & Counseling, CT Group of Institutions), Sh. Gurmail Singh (Department of Employment Generation and Training),  Sh. Manmohan Singh Kalsi (Chairman, Jalandhar Chamber of Industries & Commerce), Sh. Narender Kumar Sehgal (President, Jalandhar Chamber of Industries & Commerce), Sh. Charanjit Singh Mangi (General Secretary, , Jalandhar Chamber of Industries & Commerce), Lt. Col. A.K Sharma (Army Welfare Placement, Punjab & Himachal) and others were also present.
