Jalandhar, March 15, 2015: A demonstrative Lecture on Gurmat Sangeet and creativity in Music was organised on the 3rd day of Apeejay Svran International Design and Performing Arts Week. 
Dr Kanwaljit Singh, Department of Gurmat Sangeet, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. C.L. Verma, Ex-Dean and Chairman, Faculty of Performing and Visual Arts Dept, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla illumined the occasion as Resource Persons. Principal Dr. Sucharita, Dr. Arun Mishra and Dr. Amita Mishra extended floral welcome to the esteemed dignataries. 
Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, who holds special distinction in the field of Gurmat Sangeet and having  experience of teaching it for more than 27 years, also known as TV and Radio Artist, shared the intricacies of Gurmat Sangeet like Folk instruments, Folk Songs, Folk Singing Styles etc. while giving a special performance. He shared his ocean of knowledge with foreign delegates on diversified Ragas and their compositions. 
Making use of his scholarly learning and unparalleled artistic excellence, Dr. C.L. Verma guided the delegates about creativity in music. He has many national awards to his credit and is also well known as Radio and TV Artist. Along with his spell-bound performance, he threw light on the basic techniques of creativity in music. Principal Dr. Sucharita said Dr. Kanwaljit Singh and Dr. C.L Verma are befitting personalities for the music fiesta organised today and they have shared the basic knowledge with students which would help them in their career. 
The morning session was concluded with charismatic performance of world famed Punjabi Singer Jasbir Jassi, who is also an ex-student of this college.
