Rohtak, December 9, 2025: Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak flagged off a group of 35 second-year students of the Faculty of Film & Television for the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK)- one of Asia’s most acclaimed and people-centric film festivals.
The eight-day festival, to be held from 12th to 19th December in Thiruvananthapuram, brings together world cinema, master filmmakers, technicians, and over 10,000 delegates from across the globe. This educational tour is an important annual component of the Film & TV curriculum. Students from all specializations- Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Acting, and Sound- will engage with some of the finest cinematic works and industry discussions. On returning, they will submit a detailed Film Diary, documenting artistic insights and learnings acquired from screenings and interactions.
IFFK features a wide array of categories, including International Competition, Malayalam Cinema Today, Indian Cinema Now, World Cinema, Retrospectives, Contemporary Focus, Country Focus, Homages, and several thoughtfully curated sections. Students will also benefit from Open Forums, interactive sessions, and masterclasses that accompany the screenings.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya met the students and wished them well before leaving. “Film education goes far beyond the classroom—its true spirit lies in observing the world through diverse cinematic voices. This festival shall expose our students to global craft, culture, and storytelling excellence. Such experiential learning sharpens artistic instincts and broadens creative horizons. I am confident they will return enriched, inspired, and more committed to their craft.”
HOD Film & Television, Mahesh T.P., added that the tour reinforces DLC SUPVA’s commitment to nurturing industry-ready creative professionals by integrating real-world exposure into academic learning.
