31st Indian Oil Surjit Hockey Tournament- Spectators to get Maruti Alto Car

Jalandhar, October 27, 2014 : Under this slogan“Watch Surjit Hockey - Win Alto Car”, Surjit Hockey Society offering Maruti Alto for the spectators of the 31st Indian Oil Servo Surjit hockey Tournament.
The unveiling ceremony of the Maruti Alto Car was performed today by Kamal Kishor Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar, who is also the President of the Society, here at local Circuit House, in a special function. The tournament is starting from October 29 at local Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Burlton Park, Jalandhar.
Today, Alto Car sponsor, Chander Shekhar Marwaha, Chairman of the IJM Group, Nakodar handed over the keys of the Maruti Alto Car to Kamal Kishor Yadav, President of Surjit Hockey Society along with Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Phagwara-cum-Honorary Organising Secretary of the Society.
Kamal Kishor Yadav, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar said that Society has done an excellent job to uplift the national game of the country and to create interest amongst the general public towards the game of hockey. He also told that the Surjit Hockey Tournament is the only tournament in the world where prizes like Car, Motor Cycles, Refrigerators & LCDs are provided for the spectators who come to witness the matches as a lucky gift.
Yadav also appreciated the services of all the sponsors of the tournament like Indian OIl, Punjab & Sind Bank, Uppal Hospitality Group, CT Group of Institutes, IJM Group, Nakodar, Pukhraj Health Care Pvt. Limited, Gary Johal of Penticton (Canada) who have came forward to join hands with Surjit Hockey Society to make this mega event a grand success.
Yadav further said that in this 12 days hockey bonanza, apart from the cash prizes to be given in lacs to the players, the spectators, who will come to witness the tournament matches will also get prizes like ALTO Car, motor Cycles, Refrigerators, LCDs etc. The spectators will get daily lucky coupons till Nov. 9 at the each entry gate of the stadium while players/officials will get the lucky coupons on the day of their first match. The lucky draw for the ALTO and other prizes will be held soon after the final whistle of the final match, Yadav added.
Iqbal Singh Sandhu, organising Secretary of the tournament said that as in the past, this year also, no gate money shall be charged from the spectators who will come to witness the hockey matches. The World Famous Punjabi Folk Singers Manmohan Waris & Kamal Heer, known as "Waris Brothers" will entertain the spectators on November 9 from 5.30 pm inwards, before the start of final match on November 9.
