3,075 candidates appeared for Combined Entrance Test
As many as 3,075 candidates from different parts of the country today appeared for Combined Entrance Test (CET) of 14 Post Graduate courses at Panjab University (PU) in the three day long CET (PG) entrance examinations.

Chandigarh, June 17, 2025: As many as 3,075 candidates from different parts of the country today appeared for Combined Entrance Test (CET) of 14 Post Graduate courses at Panjab University (PU) in the three day long CET (PG) entrance examinations.
As many as 12 including nine in Chandigarh and one each at Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, and Sri Muktsar Sahib to conduct entrance examination from June 17-19 respectively.
PU Controller of Examination Prof Jagat Bhushan informed that 87.21 percent students appeared in various entrance examinations today. To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, Flying squad and observers were sent to every centre for routine checking and smooth conduct of the test. Jammers were also used to keep check on the mobile and any other WiFi device use during exam for cheating. The test was conducted satisfactorily and no untoward incident was reported from any of the examination centers.
The M.Tech (Instrumentation) course recorded the highest attendance with all 7 candidates present, marking 100% participation. M.Sc. (HS) Biophysics also saw a strong turnout with 14 out of 15 candidates present (93.33%). Other courses with high attendance included M.Sc. (2-Year) Environmental Science with 89.92% (116 out of 129), M.Com. (Honours) with 89.30% (167 out of 187), and M.A. (Geography) with 89.49% (230 out of 257). The LL.M. program had the highest number of registered candidates at 1,603, of which 1,416 appeared, recording 88.33% attendance. M.A. (English) had 745 registered candidates with 652 appearing (87.52%), while Masters in Public Health saw 96 out of 112 candidates present (85.71%).
Similarly, M.Com. (Business Economics) registered an attendance of 85.98% with 92 out of 107 candidates appearing, followed by M.Sc. (2-Year) Renewable Energy and Smart Materials at 84.21% (16 out of 19). M.A. (Journalism & Mass Communication) had a turnout of 77.55% with 114 out of 147 candidates present. M.Com. (Master of Entrepreneurship and Family Business) saw 74.19% attendance with 46 out of 62 candidates appearing. M.Sc. (2-Year) Nuclear Medicine had 108 out of 133 candidates present, marking 81.20% attendance. M.Sc. (2-Year) Instrumentation recorded 33.33% attendance.
