300 Saplings, One Mission: Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa Promotes a Healthier Future for Children
Reinforcing the message that a healthy environment is the foundation of a healthy future for children, Aas Ehsaas NGO organised a Plantation Drive at Pritam Colony, Giaspura, where Ms. Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, Vice Chairperson, Punjab Child Rights Commission, attended as the Chief Guest. During the drive, more than 300 saplings were planted with active participation from local residents, women and children of the colony.

Ludhiana, August 3, 2026: Reinforcing the message that a healthy environment is the foundation of a healthy future for children, Aas Ehsaas NGO organised a Plantation Drive at Pritam Colony, Giaspura, where Ms. Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa, Vice Chairperson, Punjab Child Rights Commission, attended as the Chief Guest. During the drive, more than 300 saplings were planted with active participation from local residents, women and children of the colony.
The initiative aimed to encourage environmental responsibility while creating awareness about the importance of clean surroundings, better air quality and sustainable living for future generations. Residents enthusiastically joined the campaign and pledged to nurture the saplings, recognising that every tree planted today is an investment in a healthier tomorrow.
Addressing the gathering, Gunjeet Ruchi Bawa said, "Every child has the right to grow up in a clean, healthy and safe environment. Planting a tree is not merely an environmental activity; it is a promise to our children that we will leave behind a greener and healthier future. Women and mothers play a vital role in instilling environmental values in children, and together we can build a healthier society."
She further appealed to citizens to make tree plantation a part of their daily social responsibility and inspire children to become guardians of nature.
The local residents namely Thakur Bunty Pathania, Santosh Kumar, Ashok Kumar Jha, Suraj, Shanti Devi, Anil Kumar, Madan Ravat, Happy, Vikrant Pathania, Ram Sewak, Poonam Devi etc were present during the plantation drive.
