300 girls screened at health camp in Sampla on World Sight Day

Sampla, October 8, 2026: A free health check-up camp was organised at Sir Chhotu Ram Government Women’s College, Sampla, on World Sight Day under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

Around 300 students, staff members and others were screened at the camp, organised under the guidance of Principal Dr Santosh Hooda by the college’s Youth Red Cross and NSS units.

SDM Ankita Puwar, the chief guest, and Civil Surgeon Dr Kamla Verma, the guest of honour, inaugurated the camp. Specialists conducted eye, dental, bone and other health examinations, besides providing medical advice. Free medicines were also distributed among those in need.

Participants were administered an oath to promote awareness about the importance of regular eye check-ups on World Sight Day.             

Nodal officer Dr Pritam Sheoran said the camp aimed to promote health awareness among students and the general public and provide specialist healthcare services to those in need.
