263 projects reviewed as UHSR research advisory panel completes tenure
The tenure of the Research Project Scientific Advisory Committee (RPSAC) of Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), Rohtak, ended today after over two-and-a-half years of guiding and strengthening research activities at the university.
Rohtak, October 7, 2026: The tenure of the Research Project Scientific Advisory Committee (RPSAC) of Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), Rohtak, ended today after over two-and-a-half years of guiding and strengthening research activities at the university.
Constituted on May 9, 2024, the committee held 22 meetings and reviewed 263 research projects, including faculty and PhD projects, Undergraduate University Research Scheme (UURS), Faculty Intramural Research Grants (FIRG) and Medical Research Unit (MRU) projects.
The committee evaluated research proposals on study design, methodology, scientific validity and ethical considerations, besides suggesting measures to improve their quality.
Under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal, the health varsity has set up a dedicated Research and Development Cell to promote medical research. The cell coordinates initiatives through the RPSAC, Medical Research Unit, Intramural Research Grant Committee and Institutional Ethics Committee. The university has also entered into research collaborations with institutions, including MDU, Rohtak, DCRUST, Murthal, and the Central University of Haryana.
Dr Sanjay Marwaha headed the RPSAC, while Dr Manjunath B.C. served as member-secretary. Other members included Dr Hitesh Khurana, Dr Vinod Chayal, Dr Roopa Malik, Dr Monika Gupta, Dr Mohini, Dr Anjali Narwal and Dr Manisha Manohar.
At the concluding meeting, Research and Development Cell in-charge Dr Pushpa Dahiya and Institutional Ethics Committee member-secretary Dr Ramesh were present.
Dr Dahiya described the committee's tenure as a valuable learning experience and appreciated Dr Manjunath for coordinating its meetings. Dr Marwaha thanked the members for their active participation.
Dr Manjunath B.C. said the committee's focus had always been on improving the quality of research. He said critical suggestions were aimed at strengthening projects and improving their chances of publication in reputed journals.
All committee members were presented appreciation certificates at the concluding function. A new RPSAC is expected to take charge shortly to carry forward the university's research agenda.
