25 Students of Lyallpur Khalsa College selected for `Khelo India’

Jalandhar: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar further solidified its presence amongst the elite national level institutions when 25 students of the college were selected for the 'Khelo India' program initiated by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.  

College Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra expressed his immense delight on the selection of college students for the aforementioned event taking place at Bhuvneshwar, Odisha. Dr Samra gave his best wishes to the selected students will participate in 9 various events namely, Gurwindervir Singh and Abhivan Kundal (Athletics), Sukha Singh, Karandeep, Kartik, Sonu Lal, Mohammad Asif Khan (Football), Tarik Hussain, Udayvir Singh, Sehajpreet Singh and Harish (Fencing), Gagandeep Singh, Chetan Bawa, Gurpreet Singh, Jaskaran Singh and Vipin (Rugby), Sukhdeep Singh and Gurkeerat Singh (Tennis), Boxing: Vijay Kumar, Archery: Shiv Kumar Kumbhkar, Mary Prasanna Kumar and Nagesh Kola, Taranveer Singh in Wrestling and Anushka Singh Bhatti for the event of Shooting. 

Dr Samra also added that such feats have paved the college to win the Teja Singh Samundari General Overall Sports Championship Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar for record 24 times in total. 

Dr Samra congratulated and appreciated the tireless efforts of Dr Jaspal Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education and Sports along with Associate Professor Dr Tarsem Singh.
