As many as 2,329 candidates appeared in the second phase of Panjab University, Chandigarh PU-CET (PG) Entrance Test – 2025 for admission to various postgraduate courses in the University, various colleges and regional centers.

Chandigarh, June 19, 2025: As many as 2,329 candidates appeared in the second phase of Panjab University, Chandigarh PU-CET (PG) Entrance Test – 2025 for admission to various postgraduate courses in the University, various colleges and regional centers.
PU Controller of Examination Prof Jagat Bhushan informed that 87.79% students appeared today in PU-CET (PG) Entrance Test in various centres of Panjab University. To ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examination, Flying squad and observers were sent to every centre for routine checking and smooth conduct of the test. Jammers were also used to keep check on the mobile and any other WiFi device use during exam for cheating. The test was conducted satisfactorily and no untoward incident was reported from any of the examination centers.
Among the high-participation programmes, M.Sc. (HS) Chemistry saw the highest number of applicants (544), with 489 candidates appearing, recording 89.89% attendance. In Zoology (M.Sc. HS/2-Year), 400 out of 449 candidates appeared (89.09%), while the M.Sc. (2-Year) Forensic Science entrance recorded 251 out of 291 candidates (86.25%).
The M.Sc. (HS) Computer Science (Specialisation in Data Science) programme received 243 applications, of which 201 candidates appeared, marking 82.72% attendance. In Mathematics (M.Sc. HS/2-Year), 297 of 345 applicants appeared (86.09%), and M.Sc. (2-Year) Microbial Biotechnology recorded the highest attendance percentage among all, with 197 of 215 appearing (91.63%).Other science programmes included M.Sc. (2-Year) Bioinformatics / System Biology & Bioinformatics, which had 89 of 100 applicants present (89.00%), and M.Sc. (HS) Geology 66.67 % students appeared.M.P.Ed. (Master of Physical Education) recorded 144 of 163 candidates present (88.34%), while B.P.Ed. (Bachelor of Physical Education) saw 151 of 184 candidates appear (82.07%).In the social sciences stream, Master of Social Work (MSW) saw 90 out of 121 applicants appearing for the entrance exam, marking 74.38% attendance.
