22nd Punjab Science Congress Continued on Second Day at DAVIET

Jalandhar, February 8, 2019: 22nd Punjab Science Congress under the aegis of Punjab Academy of Sciences inaugurated on Feb 7, 2019 continued on the second day with full fervor in the campus of DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology, Jalandhar. The theme of the congress is ‘Innovating Science & Technology in the Service of Society’. The basic aim of PSC is to provide a platform to the researchers, academicians and students to share their views and discuss new concepts and ideas on latest technology and development. As far as, 345 research papers have been received and researchers are going to present their papers at multiple venues during the three days of the conference.
A live in Concert ‘Awaz-e-Sufi’ of Dr. Mamta Joshi was also organized in the evening of the first day. The audience enjoyed the performance by Dr. Mamta Joshi. Her performance to remind the people about their tradition was applauded by all present there.
In continuation of the PSC on the second day, researchers presented their papers on different tracks such as agricultural sciences, sugar technologies, biosciences, biochemistry, biophysics, pure chemistry, applied chemistry, mathematical sciences, medical, veterinary, pharmaceutical sciences, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and allied branches. Presentations for ‘Young Scientist Award’ were also conducted on the day.
Apart from the presentations, an exhibition of projects was also organized. Students displayed their projects in the exhibition. Some of the projects were Mechanical Fertilizer Sprayer, Electronic Water Saver Tap, Electronic Water Saving & energy Saving, automobile E-bike, Hydroelectric Power Plant, Automatic Street Lights, Hydrolic Arm, Li-Fi. The enthusiasm of the students for the projects was unmatched. They strived hard to outdo their competitors but the atmosphere remained very jovial and healthy. The projects shown by various teams were par excellence which were applauded by one and all.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET appreciated the zeal of the participants towards the PSC. He acknowledged the projects displayed in the exhibition.
