200 Students Appear In Joint Campus Placement Drive Organised By Indian Army Under UES At DAVIET

Jalandhar, December 13, 2016: The Indian Army organized two days Joint Campus Placement Drive at DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology (DAVIET), for the recruitment of B. Tech (All Stream) 2017 & 2018 passing out batches. The recruitment drive was organised under the University Entry Scheme (UES) and it provided an opportunity to the students of various engineering branches for technical branch in the Indian Army as Short Service Commission Officer.
In the joint campus placement drive more than 200 students appeared from DAV Institute of Engineering & Technology (DAVIET), CT Group of Institutions, Anand College of Engineering & Management(ACEM), NIT, Jalandhar, DAV University ,Guru Nanak Dev University(GNDU),St Soldier Institute of Engineering & Technolgy, Sant Baba Bagh Singh, and Punjab University. The selection process included Personal Interview on the basis of which the Indian Army would shortlist the students for SSB Test conduct for the final recruitment in Indian Army.
In the Presentation, officials informed the students about various career opportunities in the Indian Army. The Officials said, “The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India serves as the Supreme Commander of the Indian Army, and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is a four-star General.” Further he stated that the primary mission of the Indian Army is to ensure national security and unity along with defense of the nation from external aggression which will ensure peace and security within its borders. He also touched upon the humanitarian rescue operations during natural calamities and other disturbances, like Operation Surya Hope, and encouraged the students to opt for a life full of responsibilities and adventures.
Mr. Sushil Prashar, Training and Placement Officer appreciated the hard work put in by students and highlighted that special efforts were done to make them ready for interviews. He shared that special guest lectures and workshops were organized from time to time to make the students sharpen their skills to face such interviews. He also thanked the Principal for his constant support and guidance.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Principal DAVIET congratulated the students on their success. He highlighted that DAVIETians have always been passionate about placement in Indian Army as it provided them a chance to directly serve the nation. He hoped that the Army would get maximum talented and enthusiastic students from this recruitment drive. He wished them the best of luck for all their future endeavors’
