Ludhiana, December 11, 2017: A 2 week AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme – “Waste management by Additive Manufacturing” is being organized by Department of Production Engineering of Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana from 11th December to 24th December, 2017. Giving details of the event, Dr.Rupinder Singh Coordinator said that more than 80 participants applied for the course from which 55 have been shortlisted. This program will enhance and guide the minds of researchers in the area of waste management by scientific techniques along with practical exposure.
On the inauguration, Dr. O.P. Singh, Principal, BCET, Gurdaspur was chief guest along with Dr. Surinderbir Singh (Ex- Princpal, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College) as guest of honor. Dr. Sehijpal Singh (Principal, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College) said that the college has been witnessing a plethora of academic activities in the last month with number of faculty development programmes being organized by various departments. Providing insight into the contents of the program, Dr. Jasmaninder Singh Grewal, Chairman, FDP said that the program shall focus on various aspects of waste management in every field of production engineering. Dr. O.P.Singh in his address stressed upon making the research useful for society. He said it is our prim duty to promote research in areas which are relevant to the society and waste management was one such area. Dr. Kulbir Singh Gill, Dr. P.S. Bilga, Dr. Arvind Dhingra, Dr. Harwinder Singh and other deans and heads of various departments of GNDEC were presented on this occasion. Er. Manjot Singh Bedi (Organising secretary) delivered the vote of thanks.
