Rohtak, October 22, 2026: A two-day workshop titled Seeing, Reading, and Drawing began at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (SUPVA) on Thursday, aiming to strengthen the observation, imagination and creative skills of visual arts foundation students.

Argha Kamal Ganguly, assistant curator at the National Gallery of Modern Art, attended as the chief guest and guided students in understanding art beyond its visual appearance.

FC Visual Arts, Vinay Kumar said the workshop focuses on helping students explore the form, colour, texture, emotions and context of their subjects rather than merely reproducing objects or scenes. Through observation and interpretation of paintings, artworks and visual media, students are learning to understand the significance of lines, shapes, colours and symbols.

The drawing sessions encourage students to translate their observations into original artistic expressions, experiment with ideas and develop individual styles. The workshop combines hands-on activities with interactive discussions to promote independent thinking and a deeper understanding of the creative process.
