16 areas declared as micro containment zones in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana: Under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government and to check the spread of Covid 19, 16 areas of district Ludhiana have been declared as micro containment zones. 

While providing information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Sharma said that the micro containment zones include from Joga Singh house to end of street no 1 in Mundian Kalan (5 positive cases), area near Bunty Kiryana Store gate in Uttam Nagar Vardhman Colony near Fortis Hospital (12 positive cases), Bhatia Tent House Street near Street no 17-1/2 and 18 in Jeevan Nagar on Chandigarh Road (9 cases), from house of Master Gurpreet Singh till Old Krishna Public School in Street no 5, 6 New Model Town, Amloh Road, Khanna (5 positive cases), from Sharma Clinic on street no 8 to Shiv Mandir Street in New Moti Nagar (7 positive cases), street no 7, Dashmesh Nagar near Gill Chowk Ludhiana (9 cases), street no 11 in Durga Puri Haibowal Kalan (5 positive cases), Aspin 5 Tower on Pakhowal Road (8 cases), street no 5 near Bus Stand in village Jodhan (6 cases), Kartar Chowk Urban Estate Phase 1 Dugri (5 cases), from Chakk Mafi Turn till Sub Centre turn at Village Lalheri Manupur (5 cases), Pink Flats Road in Rajguru Nagar (7 cases), from house of Jagtar Singh to house of Sukhwinder Singh in Machhiwara Sahib (5 cases), street no 3 of Sarita Vihar Main Road near Shakti Vihar Haibowal Kalan (5 cases), from AJ Textiles to Aditya Mitwa Godown on Shivala Road, Chaura Bazaar (5 cases) and from Ramesh Boutique to BS Digpal House in New Azad Nagar (6 positive cases).

All these micro-containment zones have been sealed and the concerned departments have been asked to take necessary action. Mr Sharma informed that as per the directions of the health department, a district level committee comprising ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, District Epidemiologist Dr Ramesh Kumar and Medical College head Dr Clarence Samual, to identify containment and micro containment zones have been formulated in the district. He said that containment and micro containment zones are declared on the basis of recommendation of this committee.

Mr Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
