15th Panjab University Rose Festival to be inaugurated by Prof. Renu Vig 

Chandigarh, January 28, 2026: The 15th Panjab University Rose Festival will be inaugurated by Prof. Renu Vig, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University on 6th February, 2026. A three-day affair, Panjab University Rose Festival will have Flower Competition on the first day. During evening, on the first day, Cultural Event by Department of Music will be held. 

On the second day, Rangoli, Painting, Dancing, Slogan Writing and Creative Mehandi competitions will be held. In the evening there will be Cultural Event by Department of Youth Welfare. On third day, Rose Prince & Princess, Collage Making, Face Painting and Fancy Dress Competition will take place during the day and crowning ceremony will be held after the competition. In the evening, there will be Fashion Competition by UIFT & VD.

The competitions are seeing good response. More than 100 entries have been received for various competitions. Forms for various competitions are available online and offline. Those who are interested to apply online can apply on website “pumis.puchd.ac.in”, wherein the schedule and rules and regulations for competition are available and offline forms can be filled at Rose Festival Secretariat, Single Window Enquiry, Near Post Office, Panjab University, Sector-14, Chandigarh. A large no. of enquiry are being received for festival.

Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden spread over an area of 2.5 acre, has been given a facelift for the Festival. The flower beds and hedges are beautified to have a better look by the gardners of Horticulture Division. More than 110 varieties of Rose plants are adorning the garden. 12 new varieties have been added.

The special corner for the kids including Joy Rides/Jhullas, Games, Food Court etc. will be setup to enjoy the festival. Various competitions like Rose Prince & Princess, Rangoli, Dancing, Painting, Mehandi, Slogan Writing, Collage Making, Face Painting and Fancy Dress will be held in age categories from 0-1 to 18 yrs. & above.
