Ludhiana, October 2, 2019: On 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian Overseas Bank carried out a massive Swachhata Abhiyaan in Ludhiana today, under the leadership and guidance of Ajay Tembhekar, Senior Regional Manager, Regional Office, Ludhiana.
The staff members carried placards, urging people to stop using Plastic bags in interest of the environment, which is the need of the hour.
Staff members raised slogans, insisting people to use paper bags or cloth bags, which are easily bio degradable.
The staff members walked in various areas of Ludhiana City, including the Civil Lines and Rakh Bagh area.
The procession was also given a warm welcome by Surinder Dawar, Local MLA and he lauded the efforts of IOB being carried out in this direction.
Swachhata Abhiyaan was also simultaneously carried out at various schools, colleges and various institutions at all branches of Ludhiana region including, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Bhatinda district.
