150-ft Double-Storey Stage, 200-ft Ravan to Rise in Rohtak; Ramleela festival to begin at Old ITI ground on October 10
The Ramleela Mahotsav and Dussehra Mela will begin at the Old ITI ground here on October 10, with the Ramleela Utsav Committee making elaborate arrangements for the annual event.
Rohtak, October 4, 2026: The Ramleela Mahotsav and Dussehra Mela will begin at the Old ITI ground here on October 10, with the Ramleela Utsav Committee making elaborate arrangements for the annual event.
Committee chief patron Rajesh Jain said the inaugural ceremony would feature Agar Leela and Krishna Leela for the first time. A 150-ft-wide double-storey stage and a grand pandal are being prepared, along with three 60×100-ft stages.
The organisers have insured the event for ₹2 crore. Around 10,000 chairs will be arranged for spectators, besides separate seating for nearly 2,000 people. Security arrangements will include 92 guards, CCTV surveillance and police deployment.
Artists from Mumbai and Moradabad will present the Ramleela daily from 9 pm, featuring light-and-sound effects, LED screens and choreography. The fair will also have amusement rides, food stalls, tableaux, fireworks and drone-based flower showers.
On Dussehra, October 20, effigies of 200-ft Ravan, Tadka, Kumbhkaran and Meghnad will be set ablaze. The festival will also carry messages on environmental protection, organic farming, de-addiction and civic awareness.
Mahant Karna Puri, Swami Raghvendra Bharti, committee president Subhash Tayal, Suresh Bansal, Sunny Nijhawan, Rajiv Jain, Sheetal, Uma Goyal, Meenakshi along with others were present.
