148 Students of CGC Jhanjeri received certificates from IIT Mumbai & SWAYAM for completing online courses

Mohali, June 19, 2018: Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri with the aim to enhance employability of its students Centre of Excellence has established in the campus which is Fully equipped computer labs for facilitating the students to study latest courses in various disciplines of Engineering and MBA. The lectures and tutorials for these courses have been prepared by experts from IITs, IIMs and other leading institutes of India. The courses are covered under ‘FOSS’ – the Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT, Mumbai, funded by MHRD, GoI.The students of CGC Jhanjeri have also undertaken a number of courses under ‘SWAYAM’ a scheme launched by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.

The students of CGC Jhanjeri has made most of these labs and 148 students complete courses of IIT Mumbai & SWAYAM . Under these schemes, online reading material regarding latest subjects is available for students who register themselves for a course of their choice. After studying the reading material, the students receive assignments which they solve and submit from time to time. Finally students have to take online test and have to clear these tests . For the subjects covered under FOSS the (Free Open Source Software) these certificates are issued by IIT, Mumbai and for SWAYAM courses, the required certificates are awarded by AICTE, New Delhi. As many as 79 students have successfully completed different courses under FOSS & have been given certificates by IIT Mumbai. Another lot of 69 students have completed the courses of their choice under the SWAYAM scheme of AICTE, New Delhi.
