Ludhiana, January 2, 2013: Police have arrested three accused in connection with gang rape with a 13-year-old girl belonging to Talwandi village within jurisdiction of Ladowal police station in Ludhiana district.
Addressing a press conference here this evening, Ishwar Singh, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana told that the accused had been identified as Shera, Harpal Singh, alias Bhalu, and Vijay Kumar.
He told that the FIR against the accused was registered today, following which the police acted immediately and arrested the accused.
He said the trio accused also belonged to Talwandi village.
Singh told that special teams had been constituted for recording statement of the victim, getting conducted her medical examination and counseling.
He refused to give more details on the plea that further police investigations were on.
