11th AIM-AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium Sparks Innovation and Collaboration in Bengaluru
Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) hosted the 11th AIM-AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, in partnership with the American Marketing Association (AMA) Sheth Foundation and the Academy of Indian Marketing.

Bengaluru: Jagdish Sheth School of Management (JAGSoM) hosted the 11th AIM-AMA Sheth Foundation Doctoral Consortium, in partnership with the American Marketing Association (AMA) Sheth Foundation and the Academy of Indian Marketing.
From December 20th to 23rd, the JAGSoM Bengaluru Campus hosted a gathering of global marketing scholars. The consortium served as a hub for exchanging ideas, encouraging fresh perspectives, and conducting in-depth investigations in Marketing. Bringing together over 45 renowned academicians from different parts of the world, it offered the doctoral students the opportunities to learn from these respected mentors. Furthermore, it fostered connections among students enabling them to network among peers, engage with seasoned professors, and seek guidance for their research pursuits.
During the event, distinguished faculty members led Master Classes in the areas such as Consumer research & Social well-being, Modelling and empirical research, Strategic marketing, and Qualitative consumer behavior research. Participants took part in specialized Global Cafés, based on their research interests, where they received guidance from globally recognized mentors overseen by Prof. Denish Shah. The program also featured Plenary and parallel tracks hosting sessions that tackled crucial topics including Bringing relevance versus rigor in research, Consumer behavior, Brand management. Digital marketing, Editor meetings, Academic career guidance, Manuscript composition, among others.
A pivotal Director’s panel, moderated by Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, Director JAGSoM, included three more Directors of prominent Indian management institutions, namely Dr. Asit K Barma, Director – BIM Trichy, Dr. K S Venugopal Rao, Director – IBS Hyderabad, and Dr. Vishal Talwar, Director – IMT Ghaziabad, engaging in a discussion on "Institutional expectations from young PhDs." The panel deliberated on the key questions of faculty recruitment, engagement and retention; balance of research, teaching and institution building work; and the tenure of young faculty members; among others.
The event concluded with research development workshops, featuring esteemed speakers such as Prof. Adithya Pattabhiramaiah from The Scheller College of Business, The Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, Prof. Denish Shah, Robinson College of Business, Georgia state university, Prof. Amaresh Sharma, Mays Business School, Texas A & M University and Practitioners such as Gayatri Chauhan, Angshuman Ghosh. They addressed multifaceted aspects of research, from multi-method approaches, using empirical methods, managing revision processes, and developing breakthrough research ideas.
Co-chaired by Dr. A. Parasuraman, Dr. Denish Shah, and Dr. Atish Chattopadhyay, this exclusive consortium offered a platform for doctoral candidates to engage with global mentors, forge peer connections, and contribute significantly to the marketing domain. The event played its role as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration within the marketing discipline.
