10th Edition of Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament Held
Col. Gopi Singh, Dr. Rajiv Bhalla & Anish Arora emerge winners in their handicap categories

Panchkula, November 24, 2025: In the 10th Edition of Amateur Golfers Society(AGS) Golf Tournament, Col. Gopi Singh, with an impressive score of 73 emerged winner in the 0-9 handicap category, the 1st runner-up was J S Jaidka with a score of 74, in the lush green 72 par 18 hole Panchkula Golf Club. In the 10–15 handicap category, Dr. Rajiv Bhalla with a score of 73 was declared winner while Dr. Anil Rattan Verma with a score of 74 was adjudged runner-up. In the 16 & Above Handicap category, Anish Arora with a score of 73 bagged the top spot and Sunil Issar with a score of 74 earned the title of runner-up.
In the sub-competition of ‘Longest Drive’ Col. Gopi Singh with a 260-yard hit was the winner and Brig. H. P. S. Bedi with a 240-yard hit was the runner-up. In the ‘Straight Drive’ segment the winner was Col. N. K. Mehta (2 inches) and the runner-up was S. K. Goel (7 inches). In the ‘Nearest to Pin’ competition the winner was G K Garg (1 feet 4 inches) and the runner-up was Col. Gopi Singh (10 feet).
Chief Guest Rakhee Gupta Bhandari(IAS), Principal Secretary, Food Processing,Punjab Government, gave away the prizes and trophies. She commended the organiser Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) for holding the tournament and its vision related to promotion of golf.
Advocate Suresh K. Gupta, Founder Trustee of AGS, said: “Our aim is to organise more such tourneys in the region in order to help discover hidden talent and further promote golfing culture in tricity. We want to make AGS( NGO) a valuable platform for both young and seasoned golfers,so that they can improve their golfing skills.”
The tournament brought together 72 passionate golfers, competing across three handicap categories: 0-9, 10–15 and 16 & above.
The Guests' of Honour were H C Goyal(Founder & Co-Owner of Jia Diamonds) and Chief Patron AGS; Preeti Goyal, Co-Owner of Jia Diamonds; Mohit Bansal (GMI Infra) & Patron AGS, S.S. Prasad, IAS(Retd.) and Dr Monica B. Sood, State Convenor, Intellectual Cell, BJP Chandigarh.
At the prize distribution ceremony AGS also acknowledged strong backing from corporate partners including Jia Diamonds, LIGNA Wardrobes & Glass Partitions, GMI Infra, Alpine Nest Homes, Adani ,HDFC Bank and Punjab National Bank (PNB).
