108 patients get cured in District Ludhiana till date: DC

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal has informed that in a good news, a total of 108 patients have been declared cured in district Ludhiana. He informed that 77 persons have been declared cured today, which includes 62 from Ludhiana, 9 from Fatehgarh Sahib, 2 from Mohali, while 1 each from Hoshiarpur, Moga, Ropar districts of Punjab and one patient from Haryana.
    In a press statement issued here today, Mr Agrawal informed that 23 new positive cases have been reported in the district in last 24 hours. He said that out of total new patients, 13 are RPF personnel who had come from Delhi, four persons are from Payal, two from Kundanpuri, one from Dharampura, two are Railway Employees who are residents of Railway Colony, here, and one from Guru Nanak Nagar on 33 feet road.
    Unfortunately, one more death has been reported in the district. A 6-year-old boy, a resident of Haibowal Kalan, had come to Civil Hospital Ludhiana with problem of Hepatitis C, from where he was referred to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. Despite undergoing treatment there for 8 days, his health deteriorated, after which he was referred to PGIMER Chandigarh. Upon reaching there, his sample for COVID 19 was taken and was found positive. Unfortunately, he passed away due to COVID 19 on May 16, 2020. Now, the total number of persons from Ludhiana who have passed away due to COVID 19  has reached 7.
    The Deputy Commissioner informed that till date, 4851 samples have been taken, report of 4478 samples have been received and report of 4247 patients is negative. He informed that results of 373 samples are still awaited. He stated that now, the total positive patients of district Ludhiana till date are 159, while 72 are from other districts/states. /(May 17)
