108 Ambulance Service Attends Over 91,700 Emergencies Across Punjab in First Half of 2026

Ludhiana, July 30, 2026: The 108 Ambulance Service, operated by Zenplus Private Limited, responded to 91,713 emergency cases across Punjab between January and June 2026, providing critical pre-hospital care and emergency support to citizens across urban and rural areas of the state.

According to the service data, medical emergencies accounted for the highest number of cases at 36,403, followed by 20,538 pregnancy-related emergencies and 13,929 road accident cases during the six-month period. The ambulance network also attended 11,380 cardiac emergencies and 9,463 cases under other emergency categories.

The service also reported 52 successful deliveries inside ambulances, highlighting the preparedness of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) in managing critical situations during transit.

Among the six months, June recorded the highest number of emergency responses with 16,025 cases. These included 6,688 medical emergencies, 3,263 pregnancy-related cases, 2,517 road accident cases, 1,676 cardiac emergencies and 1,881 other emergency responses.

District-wise, Ludhiana reported the highest number of emergency responses with 12,541 cases, followed by Patiala (7,862), Jalandhar (7,609), Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar (Mohali) (7,457) and Amritsar (6,656).

Other districts including Hoshiarpur (4,812), Bathinda (4,314), Gurdaspur (4,231), Sangrur (3,459), Kapurthala (3,268), Tarn Taran (3,155), Rupnagar (2,901), Moga (2,754), Fazilka (2,676), Fatehgarh Sahib (2,663), Firozpur (2,610), Mansa (2,519), Muktsar (2,517), Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar (2,284), Faridkot (1,917), Malerkotla (1,255), Barnala (1,253) and Pathankot (1,000) also recorded significant emergency responses.
