10 new positive cases reported in Ludhiana district in last 24 hours

Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that in the last 24 hours, 10 new positive cases have been reported in district Ludhiana. He informed that out of the new cases, two are from Chander Nagar, two from Omaxe Royal City, two from Khanna, while one each from Field Ganj, village Daad, Chawni Mohalla and Islamganj.
He informed that as per the “Mission Fateh” started by the Punjab government, the number of patients getting cured is increasing with each passing day. He said that till date, a total of 165 patients have been discharged from hospital after getting cured. 
He further said that till date, a total of 11522 samples have been taken, out of which report of 10797 samples has been received, of 10439 samples is negative and report of 725 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 257, while 101 patients are related to other districts/states. He said that unfortunately 10 people from Ludhiana and 7 from other districts have lost their lives. He said that 165 patients related to district Ludhiana have been discharged from hospital after treatment.
He informed that till date, 8262 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 1882. Today, 264 persons were sent for home quarantine.
He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 614 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly. He appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.

The District Administration and Police has intensified strictness against people who are violating the lockdown 5.0 and unlock 1.0. Till date, challans worth Rs 21,64,800 have been issued in district Ludhiana under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government.
While providing information, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal stated that 6,974 challans worth Rs 19,31,600 were issued to people for not wearing masks, 2,178 challans worth Rs 2,23,200 were issued to people for spitting in public, two persons were challaned Rs 1,000 for violating home quarantine, besides four challans worth Rs 9,000 have been issued for not maintaining social distancing.
Mr Agrawal said that he has already directed the police to take strict action against people not wearing masks. He stated that any relaxation in curfew would be given under strict protocol and people would have to follow it. He said that several relaxations have been provided to the residents and that is why, they should prefer not to come out of their homes.
He informed that these challans can be issued by SDM, Tehsildar, Naib Tehsildar, Sub Registrar, Police officials or Gazetted officials. He informed that the amount collected from challans is being deposited at Civil Surgeon Office, Ludhiana.
Mr Agrawal informed that the Punjab government has directed the officials to take strict action against any person violating the lockdown 5.0 and unlock 1.0. He informed that as section 144 of CrPC has been in force, no relaxation would be provided in this regard.
Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga informed that as per directions of the Punjab government, any person not wearing mask would be fined Rs 500, if any bus owner, car owner or auto rickshaw/two-wheeler owner does not follow social distancing rules, then they would be fined Rs 3,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 500 respectively. Any person breaking home quarantine would be fined Rs 2,000 and any person spitting in public place would be fined Rs 500.
