‘Ek Prayas Children’ prove their mettle at Special Olympics

Ludhiana, October 7, 2017: The special Children at ‘Ek Prayas’ performed brilliantly well during the 20th Punjab State Special Olympics organized from 4th to 6 October 2017 at Patiala. The special Children showcased exemplary performances in different events. As many as 450 students from across the region participated in the event. The spectators were spell bound with their zeal to do well and exceed while maintaining a healthy competition spirit.

The results of the mega event was as follows: The children at ‘Ek Prayas’ bagged the overall runners up trophy . The individual results of ‘Ek Prayas’ were as follows: Paramvir bagged two Gold medals each in the event 100m Run and 100m Walk. Gurnoor got two Golds, each in 25m Run and 50m Run while Mukesh stood second and grabbed a silver each in 25m Run and 50 M Run. Krishan bagged a silver in 25m Run and a bronze in 50 m Run.
Mrs. Maninder Kaur, Gen. Secretary, Ek Prayas expressed immense happiness over the marvellous performance of the students. Prof .Manjit Singh Chhabra, Treasurer, ‘Ek Prayas’said that such events not only raise the moral of special children but also help to identify their areas of interest. Mr. Ashok Arora, Vice President, Ek Prayas applauded the efforts of the students and teachers for supporting and preparing the students well for the event.

Mrs. Sameera Bector, President EKk Prayas’ congratulated the students for their keen and enthusiastic participation. She said that the splendid performances by these special children are a source of inspiration for everyone as they perform defying their disabilities and win over our hearts.
