A total of 1169 - Mittal Panday Scholarships (Meritorious), Mittal Panday Scholarships (Vocational), Mittal Panday Scholarships (Girls) and Nehru Scholarships were distributed to the students from various schools, colleges of Ludhiana at Nehru Sidhant Kender; Sat Paul Mittal National Award for the year 2017 presented to Dr. Mangu Singh, MD, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (under Individual Category) & Barefoot College, Tilonia, Rajasthan (under Institutional Cetegory) for outstanding service to humanity; Sat Paul Mittal Award of appreciation presented to Pallium India, Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Nitin Kumar Nand from Chattisgarh; Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines , Ludhiana bags the Nehru Trophy in 22nd Inter-College Debate held on 03.11.2017 at Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, November 13, 2017: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust celebrated the 128th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru – promoter of peace and architect of modern India. The students from various schools and Colleges and eminent citizens attended the function with great enthusiasm. Shri Brahm Mohindra, Health & Family Welfare Minister, Punjab was the Chief Guest. Floral tributes were paid to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Chief Guest, Awardees of Sat Paul Mittal National Award-2017 and the Trustees.

Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President of the Trust welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests and students present.

In his welcome address Shri Rakesh Bharti Mittal highlighted the contributions made by Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust in various fields for the upliftment and amelioration of the suffering humanity. He was proud of the fact that India is marching ahead and is now one of the fastest growing economics of the world.

Shri Mittal made a proud mention of Sat Paul Mittal School, a unit of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust. He said that in a short span of 13 years, Sat Paul Mittal School has become the preferred choice of the people of Ludhiana.

“SAT PAUL MITTAL NATIONAL AWARD for outstanding service to humanity” for the year 2017 was presented to Dr. Mangu Singh, Managing Director, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation under Individual Category & Barefoot College, Tilonia, Rajasthan under Institutional Category for outstanding service to humanity. Sat Paul Mittal Award of appreciation presented to Pallium India, Thiruvananthapuram and Dr. Nitin Kumar Nand from Chattisgarh.

total amount of Rs.5 lakhs was given to the Awardees of Sat Paul Mittal National Award 2017 & Sat Paul Mittal Award of Appreciation 2017.

Shri Brahm Mohindra, Health & Family Welfare Minister, Punjab Govt., in his address greeted all the distinguished guests and students present on this occasion. He also extended his heartiest felicitations to Dr. Mangu Singh, Barefoot College, for winning the prestigious Sat Paul Mittal National Award. He also complimented Pallium India and Dr. Nitin Kumar Nand, the winners of Sat Paul Mittal Award of appreciation. He congratulated the winners of Nehru Scholarships and Mittal Panday Scholarships and advised the students to work hard and be the assets of the Nation. He also complimented the Kender for fulfilling the dreams of Late Sh. Sat Paul Mittal and appreciated the efforts of Nehru Sidhant Kender in giving away scholarships and awards. He congratulated the Trustees for opening Sat Paul Mittal School and was very happy to know that Sat Paul Mittal School was putting up an excellent show by way of imparting quality education.

Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines also received the Nehru Trophy for the 22nd Inter College Debate organised by the Trust and individual prizes were presented to the students in individual category. Nehru Scholarships to poor and deserving students and Mittal- Panday Scholarship (Girls) were also presented to students from various schools and Colleges. In all a total 1169 scholarships were distributed amounting to Rs. 23.50 Lakhs.

Dr. Mangu Singh, Sh. Ravindranath (Barefoot College), Sh. Ashok Chitale (Pallium India) and Dr. Nitin Kumar Nand in their speeches listed their achievements which have benefited thousands of deserving people from the lower strata of society.
