ZILA PARISHAD & PANCHAYAT SAMITI ELECTIONS:  DETAILS OF COUNTING CENTRES OF LUDHIANA DISTRICT ISSUED

Ludhiana, September 21, 2018: Different counting centres have been set up for the counting of votes of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections held on September 19, 2018. The details of the counting centres have been issued today.

While providing information, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal informed that more than 1200 staff has been deputed for this purpose and strict security arrangements have been made. The counting of votes would start at 8 am tomorrow, i.e. on September 22, 2018. He was also accompanied by Additional District Election Officer cum Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal.

He informed that the counting of votes for block Dehlon would be held at Malwa Khalsa School, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, for block Doraha at Guru Nanak National College, Doraha, for block Jagraon at Lala Lajpat Rai DAV College Jagraon, for Khanna at AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Malerkotla Road, Khanna, for Ludhiana-1 at SCD Government College, Ludhiana, for Ludhiana-2 at Khalsa College for Girls, Ludhiana, for block Machhiwara at SSD Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Machhiwara, for block Malaud at Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Malaud, for block Pakhowal at Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana, for block Raikot at SGGSS School, village Gondwal, Samrala, for block Samrala at Malwa College Bondli, for block Sidhwan Bet at Guru Arjun Dev Polytechnic College, Hambran Road, village Keeri Bhumal and the counting of votes for block Sudhar would be held at Guru Teg Bahadur National College, Dakha.

They informed that there is a complete ban on carrying of weapons in Ludhiana district till September 23, 2018. Besides, under section 54 (1) of Excise Act 1914, dry day would be observed in the district on September 22, 2018. Under these orders, no hotel, restaurant, club etc would not be able to serve liquor, besides no person can store liquor tomorrow.
