ZEE TV: Terence’s Traffic Tips!

Choreographer Terence Lewis ditches car and bikes his way through Mumbai’s traffic jam to reach Zee Rishtey Awards venue on time.

“Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, phir main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta!”This maybe Salman Khan’s iconic line from the film ‘Wanted’ but, very evidently, it is choreographer Terence Lewis who lives life by that principle!

This happened at the recently held ‘Zee Rishtey Awards’ in Mumbai. On the occasion of the channel’s completion of 20 glorious years entertaining India, Zee TV wanted its annual awards show to be the grandest celebration ever. Needless to say, every star who has been a part of the channel’s illustrious journey of two decades was invited to the awards evening. Choreographer Terence Lewis, having shot to fame with Zee TV’s Dance India Dance, was called upon to not only attend the ceremony but to present an award right at the beginning of the show.

Given that Terence was required to go on stage right at the outset, the creative team of Zee TV reminded him well in advance of the show to leave his Bandra residence and reach the venue in time to get ready. However, something unavoidable came up at Terence’s end and he got substantially delayed in leaving his place. With barely an hour to go for the show, the creative team called him once again to check where he’d reached. To their horror, Terence revealed he was “just leaving” … Sensing that he was giving the organizers a last-minute panic attack, Terence reassured them, “Don’t worry. I’ll be fully ready and I’ll make it on time!”

Having promised the creative team, Terence knew he had to live up to his word. But to his exasperation, his car would not move an inch in the city’s traffic jam. Putting his razor-sharp brain to good use, he asked one of his drivers to reach the place, where he was stuck, on a bike! Ditching his car, he got onto the bike and maneuvered his way through the dense traffic, reaching the venue in the nick of time. The team, though hugely relieved to see him on time, was astonished to see him on a bike. That’s when Terence cheekily repeated Salman’s famous line and had everyone in splits.

At the awards show, Terence was seen bonding with fellow Dance India Dance judges, Geeta Kapur and Remo D’souza, who had choreographed all the dance sequences at Zee Rishtey Awards. He was particularly appreciative of the ‘Mid-air Mujra’ performed by Zee TV’s leading ladies and the ‘Superheroes’ act performed with gusto by the hunks of Zee TV.
