A youth and a Haryana girl die at Samrala railway station; Suicide suspected

Samrala, April 7, 2015: A youth and a young girl suspected to have committed suicide under a train at Samrala railway station at about 10.36AM. The deceased girl has been identified. She was 21 and a resident of Haryana while the body of youth is yet to be identified. The tragic incident occurred on the Ferozepur- Chandigarh railway track.

When the train halted at Samrala a youth and girl came out of train and when the train was about to move they suddenly went under the train and were crushed to death by the train. Their bodies were spotted when the train departed the station.

After witnessing the bodies of two persons the Station Master informed Railway Police Morinda and two officials of Railway Police including Rampal Singh and Sukhdev Singh visited the site.

The deceased girl was identified on the basis of certain documents recovered from her person. She was resident Jind in Haryana. She was the student of Govt. College at Jind.

However, the identity of the youth could not be established as no document revealing his identity could be recovered from his person.

As per Police officials two tickets were also recovered from the deceased that were from Ludhiana to Jagadhri. However Police Officials said that it is yet to be confirmed that was it an accident or suicide.
