XX Haryana State Junior Chess Championship-21015 in two phases

Jalandhar, April 12, 2015: For selection of teams for various age group National Chess Championship The Haryana Chess Association has decided to organise XX Haryana State Junior Chess Championship-21015 in two phases for the first time. In a press release issued by Naresh Sharma, Advocate, General Secretary of The Haryana Chess Association he informed that this is being done so that players can get more playing opportunities.  In the first phase Championship for Under-11, Under-15 and Under-19 would be organised by The Bahadurgarh Chess Foundation at Modern Sr. Secondary School, Bahadurgarh from 8th May to 10th may. Last date for entry to this Championship is 6th may. All players would be provided free accommodation. Dr. Pradeep Bhardwaj – President of The Bahadurgarh Chess Foundation told that he has give clear instruction to Sandeep Nimawat and Arun Rathee to organise this Championship in a professional way and no player should feel uncomfortable.

In the second phase the Championship for Under-7, 9, 13 and under-17 would be organised by District Chess Association Gurgaon from 22nd May to 24th May-2015 at American Montessori Public School, Behind Privat Hospital, Near M.G.Road Metro Station, Gurgaon. Last date for entry is 20th May. Naresh Sharma, Advocate has clearly directed all District Secretaries to complete their District Championships before these State Championships.

On the basis of the above two Championships various age group Haryana teams would be selected for National Chess Championships. No player would be allowed to play without a valid Date of Birth Certificate. The Date of Birth for different age groups are as under:

Under-7 ( on or before 1-1-2008), Under-9 (on or before 1-1-2006), under-11 (on or before 1-1-2004), under-13 (on or before 1-1-2002), under-15 (on or before 1-1-2000), under-17 (on or before 1-1-1998) and for under-19 (on or before 1-1-1996). All matches would be played as per FIDE rules. Players can get themselves registered on line at www.haryanachess.com but they must approve their entry by their District Secretary. For the success of these Championship Raju Verma- President of The Haryana Chess Association has formed two committees. Umed Sharma of Rohtak will be the Tournament Director for both Championships. For Bahadurgarh Rajpal Chauhan of Gurgaon, Sandeep Kumar Nimawat and Arun Rathee of Bahadurgarh and Devinder Suri of Faridabad are the other members while for Gurgaon Sushma Chauha and Naveen Kumar of Gurgaon, Gaurav Chhabra of Panipat, Randeep Gaur of Ambala and A.S.Kalra of Sirsa are the other members.

Free accommodation would be provided to all players. Winners would get cash award alongwith Certificate and Trophy.
