World Health Day observed by Department of Dietetics on the theme ‘Healthy Packed Lunch for Working  Adults’
Ludhiana, April 10, 2019: Department of Dietetics, DMCH observed World Health Day today on the theme ‘Healthy Packed Lunch for Working Adults’. The chief guest on the occasion was Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta. Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Vice Principal Dr GS Wander, Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina, Medical Supdts Dr Sandeep Sharma and Dr Ashwani Chaudhary was the chief guest and graced the function. In his message, Sh Prem Kumar Gupta lauded the efforts of ‘Dietetics Department’ in organizing the function and spoke about the importance of healthy diet and the growing trend of eating junk food during working hours which affects the overall health. Principal Dr Sandeep Puri said that eating a healthy and balanced diet is essential for leading a balanced and healthy life. Dean Academics Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina spoke about the need to change the lifestyle. Various students of Nutrition and Dietitics participated in ‘Recipe Competition for packed lunch’ for working adults to aware the public about the importance of healthy and nutritious meal. Dietician Incharge Ms Bhawna Bhakoo also stressed that having a packed lunch from home is very important., as working people usually neglect this meal and sometimes opt for junk or canteen foods during this time as they are easily available. Patients and attendants along with hospital staff attended the function got to know about various options available for easily cooked nutritious packed lunch from experts in nutrition.
