World cup kabaddi-2013/ USA Men and Denmark Women team secured 3rd rank

Jalandhar, December 12, 2013: Before Women Final two qualification matches in men and women category for the third position were played Jalandhar today. In men section USA got the third position defeated England by 62-27 point difference where as Denmark women team emerged victorious beating Pakistan with the point difference of 34-33.
Sikander Singh Maluka, Education Minister, Punjab were formally inaugurated the match between Denamrk and Pakistan whereas Sarwan Singh Phillaur and Ajit Singh Kohar (all Cabinet Ministers) were formally inaugurated the match between USA and England after having introduction with the players. Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Sports) Pawan Tinnu and CPS Avinash Chander was the guest of honor.
3rd position match of Men Section (USA beat England 62-27)
In the qualification match in the men category USA out smarten England and decisive victory with the point difference of 62-27 and registered third place in the medal tally and got Rs 51 lakh prize money. At the end of 1st half USA was leading with 28-17 points. Raiders of USA Dharmjot and Jesus got 15-15 points each whereas its stopper Meak and Navpreet scored 10 and 5 points respectively. Raiders of England Avtar Tari scores 9 points whereas its stopper Amandeep Riar bagged 2 points.
3rd position match of Women Section (Denmark defeated Pakistan 34-33)
In a hard fought battle, Denmark which was earlier considered to the underdog finally emerged victorious defeating Pakistan in a match that aroused the vibrations of the jam packed Guru Gobind Singh stadium, Jalandhar today.  In women category Danish team managed to outclass Pakistan team with the margin of only one points (34-33) and stands third in the medal tally. It was neck to neck fight. At the end of 1st half Denmark team was leading with the difference 19-14 points. Raiders of Denmark Mlie Pederson scored 15 and 9 points respectively whereas its stopper Tersa Victoria and Camilla Kerstina bagged 4 and 3 points respectively.
