Workshop on Security Market Operations

Jalandhar, October 24, 2018: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar always take new initiatives for the overall growth and development of the students. Keeping with this trend, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration organized a one day workshop on ''Security Market Operations''. Professor Jaspal Singh (Head, University School of Financial Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar) and Dr.Siddharth Seth (Post Doctoral Research Scholar, University School of Financial Studies, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar) were the key resource persons. The session was started by Dr. Jaspal Singh, who gave a thorough information about the financial markets, securities, stock market and derivatives. The session was made lively by showing a video on the working of NSE, BSE and CMEX (Commodity Market Exchange). He also made the students aware about the risks involved in the capital market. Dr. Siddharth focussed on imparting conceptual knowledge to the students about the working of stock market and various types of derivative contracts. The expert knowledge shared by the key persons helped the students to gain practical knowledge of the working of the stock market.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi applauded the initiative taken by the PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration and also motivated the students to participate more in such type of workshops in order to acquaint themselves with the latest developments in the field of commerce & finance.
