Workshop on making of documentaries commences at KMV
Jalandhar, November 1, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar’s Post Graduate Department of Journalism and Mass Communication organized a 10 day workshop on making of documentaries. Mr.Ravi Davala, a renowned director and alumni of FTII, Pune participated as the resource person and was accorded a floral welcome by the Principal of the college, Prof.Atima Sharma Dwivedi during the inaugural session of the workshop. More than 130 participants from the inside and outside the campus participated in this workshop with full zeal and enthusiasm. Welcoming the erudite guest Madam Principal discussed the importance of films in any society. She also motivated the students to participate and learn various nuances of documentaries film production. On the first day of the workshop Mr. Ravi Davala threw light on the significance of documentaries in the present digital era. He introduced the students with the inception of documentaries with their evolution. He also screened many prominent documentaries to the students to made them aware of the process of film production. An interactive session was organized at the end of the first day in which students got the appropriate answers of their questions. On the second day of the workshop Mr. Ravi Davala made students deeply analyse the difference between fiction and non-fiction documentaries. He also made various groups of the students and gave them different tasks to provide them an insight into the practical work. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi appreciated the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Gopi Sharma, Mrs. Manpreet Kaur, Mr. Palwinder Bhatia, Mr. Sehajpal, Mr. Sandeep, Ms. Rajat, Ms. Vinti and Mr. Karan Kumar.
