WORK ON TUGAL-AITIANA BRIDGE OVER CANAL STARTS

Gurusar Sudhar (Ludhiana), February 28, 2019: Keeping in view of long pending demand of people, the construction work of Tugal-Aitiana bridge on Abohar branch canal started today. The start of construction work was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal and Senior Congress leader Dr Amar Singh.

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that this bridge would be constructed with a cost of Rs 2.82 crore and would benefit a large number of villages in the area. He said that the construction work of this project is expected to be completed in next 6 months time.

Senior Congress leader and retired IAS officer Dr. Amar Singh has played a key role in the project.

Divulging the details about the project, Dr. Amar Singh told that Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has taken a keen interest in this project and asked the chief secretary to oversee the project personally and ensure its completion within six months. He said that he has met the Chief Minister recently in this regard who told that Punjab Government is committed to providing best facilities to the people.

He said that bridge will benefit the people of 10 villages directly and dozen more villages indirectly. He further informed that the bridge will have the height of 42.8 meters and 7.5-meter width.
