Woolens and Blankets Distributed to Under Privileged Children

Gurgaon: Contrary to the defined Christmas celebrations – of throwing parties and making merry, Save Child Beggar – a non-government organisation, celebrated the occasion quite on a note – defined by the Jesus himself - by distributing warm clothes and blankets and bringing smiles to the under privileged children putting up in slums of sector 51, Gurgaon. Philanthropist Sarvesh Kumar Tiwari, who was the chief guest, distributed around 500 blankets to these children.

With mercury dipping low since the week, this gift appears to be the best token of care for these poor children.
For 12-something Sujeet, one the beneficiaries, it was a moment of joy and relief. “In the shivering westerlies these days, we were unable to get a proper sleep in the night. Now I can sleep with my parents and siblings comfortably because due to scarcity of blankets, our parents used to give us so that could sleep and they kept awake entire night.”

Rameshwar Rai, a daily-waged labourer – hailing from Bihar, said that the blanket distribution function had changed his old assumptions about the Christmas Eve celebrations. “We had always heard that this festival was only for rich people and Santa Claus only gifted them, but for the first time I realized that festivals cannot be restricted to one class of people. Now I believe everybody has equal rights to enjoy all the festivals,” he said.

Chief Guest Sarvesh Kumar Tiwari said, “The children are the future of any country and society should act responsibly and should come forward to help these under- privileged children. We cannot depend upon Government for every small thing. We should all stand united to eradicate menace of poverty and help build a strong nation. I also appreciate Save Child Beggar NGO which is doing a wonderful job towards betterment of society.”

The parents of these children heartily thanked Save Child Beggar NGO which is working towards making India a beggar-free nation. The NGO is running 17 schools across Delhi -NCR and imparting education to around 1400 poor students free of cost with the help of 250 dedicated volunteers.

During this occasion, Anand Kumar a social worker from Gurgaon along with the management of NGO- Save Child Beggar, Kundan Kanskar –Founder, Amritansh Kumar-Founder, Umesh Sharma –Administrative Officer and Vaibhav Singal – Gurgaon Head were present.
