Woman kills self after husband's death?

New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) A 40-year-old woman committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance at her home as she was depressed after the death of her husband in a factory here, family members said Wednesday.

Police, however, said the woman died due to a heart attack.

The incident took place at Delhi Cantt area in west Delhi Tuesday. Sohan Singh, who worked in a fancy light factory, died on the spot when a machine fell on his head.

Family members said Singh's wife Asha Devi consumed a poisonous substance after she heard the news of her husband's death.

Her elder son found her lying on the floor and took her to a hospital where doctors declared her dead.

"No suicide note was found. Prima facie it seems she died of cardiac arrest. The cause of death will be ascertained only after the autopsy report," a police officer told IANS.

The factory owner has been booked for cause of death due to negligence.
