Wishes and Blessings celebrates birthdays of special children

New Delhi, September 9, 2019: Wishes and Blessings, a Delhi-based NGO that works for various causes such as education, hygienic meals, health, and SOS relief, celebrated the birthdays of 19 visually impaired children in a school in South Delhi.
This mass birthday celebration took place under the flagship project of Wishes and Blessings – ‘Birthday Manao’.
Each birthday child received a special gift along with a birthday cap, and they cut cakes individually while 100 other visually impaired children cheered them on. There was joyous laughter across the room as the children sang songs while everyone else clapped to the music. The room was abuzz with jokes and playful banter, and there wasn’t a single sad face to be seen. The party ended on a sweet note as the children were treated to delicious goodies. The event was attended by Dr Geetanjali Chopra, the founder of Wishes and Blessings, the team as well as the NGO’s donors.
Wishes and Blessings introduced the ‘Birthday Manao’ initiative in 2014. Now, every month, the organisation hosts a joint birthday party for all children born in the same month. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, said, “Very often, underprivileged children have no opportunity to celebrate birthdays and don’t have the chance to experience the joy that comes with them. Under this initiative, we celebrate the birthdays of visually impaired, homeless, street, and HIV+ children. By celebrating their birthdays, the children achieve high self-esteem and imbibe a sense of belonging.”
So far, Wishes and Blessings had hosted 750+ such birthdays’ parties.
