Ludhiana, December 27, 2012: Combined Annual Training camp for cadets of 3 Punjab Girls Bn NCC Ludhiana commenced on December 22, under the command of Col S Sehgal.

On fifth day cadets starts their day with P.T. and Yoga in which they all have experienced how exercise is beneficial to keep themselves healthy & free from diseases. Cadets were very excited as it was their day for firing competition.

The aim of the drill is to inculcate a sense of discipline, improve bearing, smartness in appearance and turn out, create self confidence, coordination and a spirit of obedience of orders. In drill period cadets were trained rifle drill with 7.62 mm rifle, they were taught “chalte-chalte dahine and bayen mur” with weapon.

A theory lecture was delivered on leadership Camp Adjutant Capt Narinderjeet Kaur in which cadets were taught the qualities of good leaders. Camp Commandant Col Ashwani Kumar gave various historical examples of great leaders and guided them how to develop these qualities in themselves.  This class also includes method of acquiring citizenship and the duties of good citizen.  Cadets share their views regarding how they can contribute towards the development of the nation by becoming good and responsible citizen.

A class was organised on field craft and battle craft in which cadets were trained about camouflage and concealment they were taught about scouts considered a eyes and ears of a section. Theory Lecture on national integration includes the relevance of NCC in unifying India. NCC creates awareness amonst the youth about the diverse heritage of our county despite of linguistic, cultural, religious and geographical barriers. Cadets were trained to give selfless service to society and to be available any time for national cause.

A Guest Lecture on Health, Hygiene and sanitation was delivered by Dr Prabhleen. She covered the aspects that the cadets should consider in maintaining personal hygiene and why the cleanliness of the surrounding is as important as the personal hygiene.

30 NCC cadets went to Bhai Bala Chowk for traffic awareness campaign.

They made people aware about theimportance of following traffic signals, rules and many other things even as pedestrian they required to follow to save their own as well as other’s life.  Relaxed attitude towards safety which should be avoided and must stay alert and aware about road safety. Mixing of drinking and driving, Jumping red signals, avoiding road signs and avoiding other traffic rules have become part of their life which should be taken care of.  Pedestrian should always walk on footpath and Cross the  roads either from under/over Pass or Zebra Crossing.

In the evening, during the games period the cadet of the CATC camp enjoyed themselves by playing kho-kho, basketball and badminton. A race competition of 100mtr and 200mtr.was organized in which cadets from all the institutions participated. cadets were very excited when they are participating in Tug of war. Fun and Frolic was also enthused during games period.
