VR Punjab adds zest to Christmas celebrations with cake and bake workshop

Celebrated chef Kandla Nijhowne takes participants on exciting cake-baking journey as part of Women’s Wednesday activity Mohali: Lending a flavourful zing to the Christmas celebrations, VR Punjab, the region’s favourite destination for shopping and merrymaking, today organised a Cake and Bake Workshop by celebrated chef Kandla Nijhowne of Master Chef India fame as part of its Women’s Wednesday activity. The Cake and Bake Workshop received an overwhelming response with more than 100 women participants turning up. In keeping with the age-old tradition of celebrating Christmas with cake, Kandla Nijhowne took the participants on an exciting cake-baking journey and shared the nuances of making a perfect Christmas cake. Giving tips on how to make the spongiest of cakes with the fluffiest of icings, Kandla Nijhowne taught the women participants how to bake the Moist and Fudgy Divinity Cake that simply melts in the mouth. She also taught them the culinary craft of preparing other Christmas delicacies like Christmas Bliss Thumbprint Cookies and Iced & Spiced Apple Tea Dessert. “I am thrilled to be a part of this awesome workshop. I can now better appreciate how baking a cake is a special art which demands a lot of care and attention. I am going to try out at home the recipes I have learnt here, and give my family a wonderful Christmas surprise,” said Nisha Ahuja, a housewife. Kandla Nijhowne, who has been conducting culinary workshops at VR Punjab’s Women’s Wednesdays ever since this women-centric initiative was first introduced, decided the bakery products and other Christmas delicacies for this workshop keeping the ease of preparation in mind so that even novices could learn how to bake that perfect Christmas cake. “Baking is an art. If you keep certain things in mind, your cake will always come out right,” she said, while sharing with the participants the latest trends in baking.
