V.P. SINGH BADNORE REVIEWS LAW AND ORDER SITUATION IN CHANDIGARH

CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 15, 2016: The Punjab Governor and Administrator, Union Territory, Chandigarh, Shri VP.Singh Badnore today presided over a high level meeting to review the law and order situation at Punjab Raj Bhavan. He emphasised on installing more and more I-click kiosk in the City. He asked the IGP and Home Secretary to take up the matter with banks and install I-click kiosk near ATMs in the City to enable each and every citizens to file their complaint online. He also stressed upon taking effective steps to provide better care to senior citizens. He asked the IGP to also develop Software to make the registration of FIRs more simple and transparent.

Appreciating the app Raksha launched by Chandigarh Police for women protection, the Governor said that need of the hour is to generate more awareness about this app, so that Women in distress will get police aid within five minutes if they shake their phone in a specific manner or press a button after downloading this app on their Mobile Phones.

Earlier, Mr. Tejinder Singh Luthra, Inspector General of Police, Chandigarh gave a presentation and briefed to the Administrator about the various steps taken by the Chandigarh Police to ensure the safety and security of the citizens. He further briefed about the special traffic and crime checking being conducted by the Chandigarh Police on a regular basis.
