Ludhiana, March 12, 2015: Volkswagen, Europe’s largest carmaker announces the rollout of Volkswagen Rishtey, an initiative designed to strengthen connections with customers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets.

With successful launches of the new Polo, new Polo GT and new Vento last year, followed by the successful launch of the new Jetta in February this year, Volkswagen continues to weave a success story in the Indian market.

Volkswagen Rishtey is essentially a mobile terminal, displaying the Volkswagen Polo, which would traverse through 51 locations in Punjab, including Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, Patiala, Bathinda and Hoshiarpur. Customers will have an opportunity to experience Volkswagen products and understand the brand, through engagement with Volkswagen representatives present at the mobile terminal.

Kamal Basu, Head – Marketing & PR, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, said “It gives us immense pleasure to introduce Volkswagen Rishtey, and we look forward to using this platform to engage with customers in tier 2 and tier 3 markets, and give them an opportunity to experience our world-class product portfolio. India remains a crucial market for Volkswagen Cars, and we have a strong focus on expanding our reach and network in the country. We are confident that this programme would be an enriching and mutually beneficial exercise for Volkswagen and our customers.”

Kick-starting from Ludhiana on March 12, Volkswagen Rishtey will cover 51 locations in Punjab over a period of 15 days.
